Fairy tales have been with us for as long as we have told stories to one another. All good fairy tales share similar features: clear morals or lessons, relatable archetypes, magical elements, conflict and transformation, mystery and wonder, happy (or fitting) endings, timelessness, and universality. These stories touch on what’s essential to the human experience – love, fear, bravery, and transformation – making them feel personal and universal. The Fairytale Tarot aims to bring the world’s wealth of folklore and bestiary into the realm of Tarot readings. The creatures depicted on each card help illustrate the relationship between man and nature.
